Wizz Air celebrates its 8th anniversary

Wizz Air celebrates its 8th anniversary and 8 years of strong growth with its biggest ever seat sale: 8 million seats for just 80% of the regular web fare.

Starting in 2004, Wizz Air was the first airline to bring low fares to Central and Eastern Europe and committed itself to strong passenger and tourism growth in its home markets: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine. Today, Wizz Air operates a fleet of 37 brand new Airbus A320 aircraft that carried over 12 million passengers in the last 12 months. The airline delivers low fares and excellent customer service to/from 76 destinations on over 220 routes across Europe.
To celebrate its low fares, profitable operations, and 8th anniversary, Wizz Air will release 8 million seats at just 80% of their listed regular web fares for 2 days.

“We are truly delighted to celebrate Wizz Air’s 8th anniversary. Wizz Air was founded to bring low airfares to Central and Eastern Europe and beyond, and our team of over 1,500 aviation professionals delivers on our promise of really low fares, great customer service and tourism growth. We now operate the youngest and cleanest aircraft fleet in Europe and in our 9th year we will, once more, enjoy double digit growth, which is clearly above average among European airlines in 2012. In the financial year ended 31 March, we grew passenger traffic by 15%and registered a record net profit. This achievement is only possible thanks to lean and efficient business processes, solid financial performance, an outstanding dedicated workforce, and the preference of millions of passengers who choose really low fares and great service. We celebrate this by releasing 8 million seats for just 80% of our regular web fares on all bookings made tomorrow, May 16th, and we urge passengers to snap up one of these low-fare seats at wizzair.com”, said József Váradi, Chief Executive Officer of Wizz Air.
