SriLankan Airlines to increase Gulf region capacity, to make order for 30 new aircraft by year-end

SriLankan Airlines chairman Nishantha Wickremasinghe said the carrier is increasing flight frequency to the Gulf region, supported by the addition of 30 aircraft to its fleet through 2015. The carrier, which expects to place an order split between Airbus and Boeing by the end of 2012, reported a 42% year-on-year increase in capacity to the Middle East in the year-to-date for Mar-2012, with growth of 10% anticipated in 2012.
