Globe Express Services (GES) will open a regional headquarters in the UAE, the company announced.
This comes in line with the expected rise of the UAE logistics sector, which is anticipated to achieve an average growth of 9 per cent each year from 2010 to 2020, according to a report by Frost & Sullivan. The report further indicated that overall logistics revenues in the UAE would reach around US$16 billion by 2020.
Globe Express Services is also in the process of opening new offices across key locations in the Middle East.
Mustapha Kawam, managing director - Gulf States for Globe Express, said: “The UAE has one of the most lucrative logistics markets in the world, making it one of the key destinations of our long-term global growth plan.
“Globe Express Services has extensive expertise and experience to provide world-class services that will add value to our UAE and regional clients’ business activities, whilst contributing at the same time to the steady growth of the UAE’s logistics sector. Our presence in the UAE and other key markets across the Middle East will be crucial in maintaining and strengthening GES’ reputation as a customer-focused, quality-driven business organization,” he said.
As part of Globe Express Services’ global expansion strategy and organic growth of the business, it recently entered into a joint venture with ITSA, one of Italy’s largest logistics companies. Prior to that, GES set up offices at the end of 2011 in Moscow, Beijing, Nanjing and Abu Dhabi - increasing the total number of GES offices to 56.
