Mahan Air will commence flights to Erbil Airport

Mahan Air will commence flights to Erbil Airport (EBL) effective 11 JUN 2012. 

During a function held recently for this latest route expansion Hossein Hosseini the Director of Marketing for the airline said “We are delighted to announce Erbil as our first new route for 2012. He added “We have seen significant growth in Northern Iraq economy during past two years and Erbil as a focal point of trade and tourism for that region. Additionally, the strong demand shown by the businessmen from Erbil to travel to Iran and the continued growth of trade volume between Iran and Iraq has created the right opportunities for introducing direct flights between the two cities of Erbil and Tehran”. The twice weekly non –stop flight which will commence as of 11 June 2012 will be preformed via A310 equipment with 185 economy and 10 business class seats. Erbil will be the 19th international destination served by the airline.
Mahan Air is the largest airline in Iran flying to more than 50 destinations within Iran and points in Europe, Middle East and the Far East. It operates a fleet of 43 aircraft including Boeing 747, Airbus A300/A310 as well as BAe-146 types. It carried more than 5 million passengers in 2011.
